Bethesda

Bethesda is located in southern Montgomery County, Maryland. According to the latest U.S. Census figures, it has a total population of 60,858. It is the home of the National Institutes of Health’s main campus and the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Bethesda is a very affluent and well-educated area, with a median family income of $168 385. and 79% of residents 25 and older holding a Bachelor's degree and 49% with a graduate or professional degree.

Forbes magazine lauds Bethesda as one of the most affluent and highly educated communities in the U.S., placing it first in Forbes list of America’s small towns. In 2009 Forbes listed Bethesda second as its most “livable cities.” It is first on the list of CNN Money .com’s top-earning American towns in 2012.

Some of the neighborhood features include: Bethesda Row and Bethesda Lane are developments of shops located on the West side of Bethesda (e.g., Barnes and Noble, an Apple Store, cinema, and dozens of shops and restaurants), the Congressional Country Club, and Imagination Stage. Some of the restaurants in this area include Mon Ami Gabi, Woodmont Grill, Olazza, Newton’s Table, Raku, Bistro Provence, and Jaleo.
